Few words about the role:
In this critical role, you will play a pivotal role in leading the successful development and launch of innovative medical consumer products. By leveraging your expertise in systems engineering methodologies and strong leadership skills, you will manage the integration of complex projects, ensuring that products meet all regulatory requirements and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and other stakeholders, managing project complexity across multiple technical domains.
- Champion the use of systems engineering tools and methodologies (V-model, FMEA, RMM, etc.) to bring products successfully to market, on time and within budget.
- Utilize your sound knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation methods and tools (e.g., CREO, Ansys, Matlab, Cameo) to optimize product design and performance.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards for medical device development, leveraging your experience in the medical device industry or other highly regulated environments.
- Effectively manage product requirements using tools like DOORS, translating user and business needs into clear technical specifications and high-level product designs.
- Lead the integration and verification of all product components, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Identify and address root causes of production issues and consumer complaints, maintaining a strong quality mindset that prioritizes continuous improvement.
- Champion the application of Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) principles throughout the development process, ensuring robust and reliable product designs (Green Belt certification preferred).
Must Haves:
- Master's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics, (Bio)Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead engineer role, managing complex projects across multiple technical domains.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing products to market in the medical device industry or other regulated environments.
- Strong understanding and experience with systems engineering methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools relevant to medical device development (experience with specific tools mentioned is a plus).
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS preferred).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Fluency in English is required.
